Since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, science and research in Germany have been confronted with numerous claims, new roles and votes of no confidence. How have Humboldtians perceived this process in their home countries? How do they experience the societal role of academics in Germany? Can German scientists, science organizations and politics learn from this? Discuss with Ekaterina Loginova (Humboldt Fellow, University of Heidelberg), Péter Bagoly-Simó (Feodor Lynen Fellow, University of Otago/HU Berlin) and Leslie Reguera Nunez (Georg Forster Fellow, Leibniz-Institut für Biochemie Halle). Moderated by Thomas Hesse (Deputy Secretary General, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation).

But where do our concepts of rationality and autonomy come from, and how can they be reconciled with recent findings from brain science? Patrick Haggard (Cognitive Neurosciences, University College London) and Michael Pauen (Philosophy, Humboldt Universität Berlin), give insights into the current state of research. The interdisciplinary dialogue is moderated by Judith Wellen (Head of Department Strategy and External Relations, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation).

Vortrag und Gespräch mit Mandana Seyfeddinipur (BBAW, Direktorin des Endangered Languages Archive) und Jörg Heiser (UdK Berlin).
