The interdisciplinary research group developed suggestions for a reform of the German and other European health systems. Participating in the discussions were scientists and scholars coming particularly from the disciplines of philosophy (philosophy of science and ethics), economics, legal sciences, medicine and the medicinerelated natural sciences. The research group finished its work in December 2003 when the Memorandum “Measured Health? A Transdisciplinary Study of the Foundations of a Sustainable Health System” was approved by the Academy’s Council. The results and recommendations of the research group were published in summer 2004.
